Part of Aga Kubish's ongoing Rootlines series, this work focuses on the hidden structures that support visible life. Exposed roots, fine networks and fragmented organic forms emerge from darkness, revealing a complex system normally concealed beneath the surface.
The image reflects Kubish's continuing interest in interconnected natural networks and the relationship between what is visible and what remains hidden. Rather than documenting a landscape, the photograph explores the underlying architecture that sustains it.
Each print is individually hand-coated and exposed, resulting in subtle variations in tone, texture and edge quality. No two prints are exactly alike.
