This new linocut is a continuation of my popular piece 'Stairs', exhibited and sold out at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 2025. It is part of an ongoing exploration of botanical architecture and the interplay between natural abundance and structural geometry.
The design shown in these images is the preparatory drawing on linoleum, prior to carving. Once complete, the final print will share a similar tonal balance and density of mark-making as 'Stairs', built through meticulous hatching, stippling, and layered ink work.
Printed manually on heavyweight 100x70cm paper, this work exemplifies my commitment to traditional techniques and meditative detail. It is a reflection on the immersive stillness found within overgrown, enclosed garden structures - a quiet tension between containment and growth.
